Some collaborations don’t need much explanation — they simply make sense. This is the story of a partnership rooted in the soil and sea of Dorset, a shared commitment to quality that has blossomed into a range of truly exceptional spirits.
We’ve worked with The Wasabi Company for years, sourcing two botanicals we know inside out: the delicate heat of wasabi and the bright, fragrant zest of yuzu. Both play a key role in our own Seaweed Botanical Vodka, so when they approached us to help create their own Wasabi Vodka, and later their Yuzucello, it felt like a natural continuation of a deep, shared understanding.

The Wasabi Company is a Dorset-based business with a real commitment to ingredient quality. They are pioneers, growing genuine wasabi in mineral-rich spring water beds, and they bring in exceptional yuzu with that bright, unmistakable citrus character that top chefs depend on. Their work is rooted in care, patience, and precision — which is exactly why we choose to use their ingredients.

The Craft: Vacuum Distillation and the Delicate Flavour
Our approach naturally complements theirs. Real wasabi is delicate, and its fresh, green aromatics are easily lost to heat. This is where our technical expertise comes in.
We use a special process called vacuum distillation (distilling at lower temperatures) which keeps the wasabi’s fresher, greener aromatics intact. This method gives their Wasabi Vodka a clean lift and a refined finish that truly reflects the ingredient, rather than flattening it. It’s a precise process we’ve honed through years of working with these unique botanicals.

Sunshine in a Bottle: The Yuzucello
Then came Yuzucello. Yuzu has always been one of the standout notes in our vodka — in our own product poem we describe it as “sparkling like sunlight on the surface.” This liqueur captures that same energy: vivid citrus, fragrant brightness, an instant hit of character.
The result is a liqueur that is pure, vibrant citrus, a true taste of the coast’s energy. We call it sunshine in a bottle, and it earns the name.
At its core, this partnership is about shared values. Two Dorset producers who put ingredient quality first. One grows remarkable wasabi and sources world-class citrus; the other crafts spirits and liqueurs that respect those flavours and let them speak for themselves.
